Introduction

The Harrington Guest House is a large town house, centrally located, neutrally furnished and decorated. We have been rated 3 stars by visit Cornwall, we offer excellent value accommodation with 5 good standard en-suite rooms, 1 with separate private bathroom. We also have a 2 bedroom self-catering flat.

Please note:We do not offer facilities  for font enlargement or colour to be changed. This site has not been tested against W3Cs Bobby programme. PAS 78 has not been referenced.We do not offer information material in Braille. We do not have a loop system.

• The nearest bus stop is about 300 yards away and there is a frequent bus service.
• The nearest railway station is Newquay which is a 5 minute walk away.
• Bus station is a 15 minute walk
• There are several local taxi companies and we can make bookings in advance for you.
• Aldi and Asda supermarkets are across the road and a laundrette is within 15 minutes walking distance.
• We offer limited off-road parking for cars and limited locked garage parking.

We are located in the center of Newquay with only a short walk to Children Parks, the Zoo and Water world for those who like a swim.

We have 3 beautiful beaches within close proximity Tolcarne beach, Great western beach and lastly Towan beach when the tide is out you can walk across these beaches to the harbour.

Arrival and Car Parking

• Check-in is from 14.00 hrs and check-out is by 10.30 hrs. Earlier arrival is possible by prior arrangement.
• Check-in for self-catering flats from 16.00hrs.
• We have 3 car parking spaces on the forecourt, with resin surface,  there is also additional garage parking, The lane to the garages is narrow with uneven surfaces and consists of sand, small stones and tarmac. Unfortunately parking  can not be reserved.
• There is a public car park next to the guest house which is pay & display. There are two electric charging points.
• We offer assistance with your luggage.
• We are sorry we have no parking facilities for guest with disabilities

Porch 

• The front entrance is usually unlocked. Please ring the doorbell on the left-hand side of the door.
• There are two steps up to the porch door. The first is 163cm L x 33cm W x 8cm D, the second is 87cm L x 19cm W x 19cm D.
• The porch is carpeted with a rubber backed shoe mat, this leads to wooden locked main door which is 84cm W. From the porch door to the main door is 270cm and the widest part of the porch is 282cm .

Main Entrance and Reception

• There is only one entrance for guests into the guest house.
• Once through the main doorway there are no more steps into the reception area
• The reception and hall way is carpeted and is one level with natural light during the day and then electrical lights at night. 
• The reception desk is 111cm long by 57 cm width, depth 99cm made of light wood. 
• The reception area is length 330cm to the bottom of the first flight of stairs to accommodation area Width 113 cm. At the reception desk we have another length 120cm. Width 109cm
• Our walls are magnolia plaster painted walls with white skirting boards.
• Other doors in the reception area are the guest lounge and  private rooms not available to guests.
• Fire extinguiuser

We have very little rules except please be quite when entering the guest house and respect other guests.

Guest Lounge

The guest lounge is 560cm x 400cm the door way is 78cm wide with a white wooden door. In the room there is a large bay window that looks out to the road to the front and a small window that looks into the entrance porch. The room consist of a pool table 112cm x 124cm, 4 x bar stools, a large bookshelf containing books and games for guest use, a tv on a low level wooden tv stand. There are double door that are not accessible to guests as they enter private accommodation. 

Stairs to first floor and landing

To access the first floor accommodation there is a staircase with 12 steps, they are carpeted with brown carpet, there is a wooden banister to the left of the stairs and wall with wood paneling on the right, the stairs are 82cm wide, at the top of these stairs is a small landing which at its widest parts is 110cm x 195cm, off this there are 2 steps straight ahead which enter the 2 bedroom self-catering accommodation and a  to the left a further 6 steps that bring you to the first floor rooms. The landing area outside the rooms is 282x390 at the widest parts. The walls are magnolia with white wooden skirting boards except the wall leading to the second floor accommodation which is wood paneling on the bottom half  and magnolia on the top half. There are 5 white wooden doors which lead to rooms 2,3,4, a cleaning cupboard and the private shower room for room 2. There is a built in linen cupboard opposite the stairs to the second floor, white wood with two locked doors. There is a fire extinguisher and fire alarm button.

2 Bedroom self-catering accommodation

Access to the accommodation in via a wooden door 78cm this comes into a small hall that has an additional white wooden door 78cm there are 2 recycling bins behind the door. Once through the second door way you enter a open plan living kitchen area that is 476cm x 441cm. It consists of kitchen area with 2 wall mounted cupboard, 2 low level cupboards built in oven, kitchen sink, toaster, kettle, air fryer, microwave, slimline dishwasher and full size fridge freezer (All cooking equipment, cutlery, crockery and glasses provided) in the living area there are two 2 seater reclining sofas, a coffee table and large flat screen tv on low level wooden tv stand. There are two built in cupboards one for the boiler and one that stored the vacuum, iron and ironing board. There are three other doors that leas to the two bedrooms and the shower room. The kitchen area is vinyl flooring and the living area is carpeted, the walls are magnolia with white skirting boards. There are ample plug sockets around the room. There is a ceiling light (Switch just to the left as you enter the room) and smoke detector. The room has three small windows one over looking the rear of the property above the kitchen sink and the other two over looking the side of the property.

 The first door off the living area is 78cm and enters  a super king/twin room it is 382cm x 330cm and consists of a super king/ twin bed dressing table with chair, bedside cabinet and wooden wardrobe. It has a small window looking out to the side of the property. The room is carpeted and has magnolia walls with white skirting boards. There is a ceiling light (switch to the left of door frame) and lamps each side of the bed, there are plug sockets each side of the bed and on the wall next to the wardrobe. 

The second door 78cm and leads to a super king/twin room that is 330cm x 300cm, and consists of a super king/ twin bed, two bedside cabinet, dining chair and wooden wardrobe. It has a small window looking out to the side of the property. The room is carpeted and has magnolia walls with white skirting boards. There is a ceiling light (switch to the left of door frame) and lamps on each bedside cabinet, there are plug sockets each side of the bed and on the wall next to the wardrobe. 

The third door 78cm leads to the shower room 220cm x 166cm, this consists of a built in vanity unit that has the hand basin, toilet and cupboard storage, on the wall there is a mirrored cabinet. There is a large corner shower with glass sliding doors. A small frosted window, extractor fan, heated towel rail, vinyl flooring ceiling spot lights (pull cord to left of door frame) the room is fully tiled.

Room 2 with separate shower room

Room 2 is 315cm x 286cm, it has a doorway of 78cm, in the room there is a double bed with 2 small bedside cabinets 2 small windows looking out to the front of the guest house ,a wardrobe with dressing table with drawers with a under counter fridge. The room also has a dining chair, wall mounted tv, bin and tea and coffee making facilities. The floor is carpeted and walls are magnolia with white skirting boards. There is a ceiling light (Switch just to left of door frame) a smoke alarm and a wall light above the  headboard. There are plug sockets either side of the bed and next to the dressing table. 

Room 2 has its own private shower room on the opposite side of the hallway. This is only accessed with a guest key.  The shower room is accessed by a door 78cm and is 230cm x 150cm. It contains a hand basin with mirror, light and shaving port above, a toilet and single glass shower cubicle with a 25cm step up into it, flooring is non-slip tiles and the walls are fully tiled. There is a small frosted window next to the toilet and a heated towel rail.  There are 4 ceiling spotlights and extractor fan above the toilet. The light is a pullcord just to the right as you enter the shower room.

Room 3 Triple with shower ensuite.

Room 3 is a triple ensuite room with large bay window overlooking the front of the guest house, it contains a double bed with two bedside cabinets and single bed, a large wooden wardrobe, dressing table, two dining chairs,  under counter fridge, Television on the dressing table, bin and tea and coffee making facilities.  The room is carpeted with magnolia walls, and white skirting boards.  There is a ceiling light (Switch just to left of door frame) a smoke alarm and a wall light above the  headboard of the double bed and a lamp on the shelf next to the single bed. There are plug sockets either side of the double bed and  to the left of the single and next to the dressing table.  

There is a door to the ensuite which contains a shower, toilet and hand basin, towel rail, the flooring is vinyl and the walls are fully tiled.

Room 4 Double with Ensuite and decking area.

Room 4 is a double room with ensuite shower room and a small private decked area via double patio doors. The room is accessed via a white wooden door way 78cm and is 334cm x 320cm it consists of hand basin  as you enter the room, a double bed with bedside cabinet one side and dressing table the other, wooden wardrobe, dining chair, under counter fridge, wall mounted tv, bin and tea and coffee making facilities. The room is carpeted with magnolia walls, and white skirting boards.  There is a ceiling light (Switch just to right of door frame) a smoke alarm and a wall light above the  headboard, there are plug sockets either side of the bed and next to the fridge. There is a door to the ensuite which contains a shower, towel rail and toilet, the flooring is vinyl and the walls are fully tiled. 

Stairs to second floor and landing

To access the second floor accommodation there is a staircase with 10 steps, they are carpeted with brown carpet, there is a wooden banister to the left of the stairs and wall with wood paneling  half way with magnolia above on the right, the stairs are 82cm wide, at the top of these stairs is a small landing which at its widest parts is 190cm x 95cm, off this there is a door to enter the studio flat self-catering accommodation and to the left a further 6 steps that bring you to the second floor rooms. The landing area outside the rooms is 310cm x 147cm at the widest parts. The walls are magnolia with white wooden skirting boards.  There are 3 white wooden doors which lead to rooms 5,6,7 and a built in linen cupboard  white wood with two locked doors. There is a fire extinguisher and fire alarm button.

Self-catering Studio flat

The studio flat is accessed by a white wood door 78cm, the studio is mad up of living area, small kitchen, shower room and super king bedroom.

 The living area is 563cm x 230cm it consists of a sofa bed, small glass tv stand with flat screen tv, small coffee table and a dinning table with two chairs. The ceiling to the right slopes and has two windows overlooking the side of the property. There are three doors 78cm that lead to the kitchen, shower room and bedroom. There is a ceiling light (Switch to left as you enter the room). The room has carpet with magnolia walls and white skirting boards. There are ample plug sockets around the room.

The first door leads to the galley kitchen 240cm x 144cm this consist of 3 low level cupboards, built in oven, kitchen sink, toaster, kettle, air fryer, microwave and under counter Fridge (All cooking equipment, cutlery, crockery and glasses provided). There is a ceiling light (Switch on the wall outside the kitchen) smoke detector and thermostat. There is a built in cupboard that houses the boiler. The flooring is vinyl and the walls are magnolia with white skirting boards. The ceiling slopes in the kitchen and had a velux window looking over the side of the property.  

The second door is the shower room 201cm x 145cm, this consists of a built in vanity unit that has the hand basin, toilet and cupboard storage, on the wall there is a mirrored cabinet. There is a large  shower with a glass push door. There is an extractor fan, heated towel rail, vinyl flooring ceiling spot lights (switch on the wall outside the room) the room is fully tiled with vinyl flooring and heated towel rail.

The third door is the bedroom 376cm x 290cm, this room consists of a super kig/twin bed, two bedside cabinets, wooden wardrobe, blanket box and dinning chair. There is a window that overlooks the side of the property. The room is carpeted and has magnolia walls with white skirting boards. There are plug sockets either side of the bed and by the door. There is a wall light above the headboard and ceiling light (switch to left of door frame)

Room 5 Double with Ensuite

Room 5 is a double room with ensuite shower room. The room is accessed via a white wooden door way 78cm and is 432cm x 290cm it consists of hand basin, a double bed with two bedside cabinets, corner dressing table, wooden wardrobe, stool, under counter fridge (stored in wardrobe), wall mounted tv, bin and tea and coffee making facilities. The room is carpeted with magnolia walls, and white skirting boards, the ceiling is slopped to the front of the property with a small window looking out to the front of the guest house.  There is a ceiling light (Switch just to left of door frame) a smoke alarm and a wall light above the  headboard, there are plug sockets either side of the bed and next to the dressing table. 

There is a door to the ensuite 78cm which contains a shower with folding door and toilet, the flooring and walls are fully tiled ceiling light (Switch on the wall outside the bathroom) and extractor fan. 

Room 6 Triple with shower ensuite.

Room 6 is a triple ensuite room with small window overlooking the front of the guest house, it contains a king size bed with two bedside cabinets and single bed, a  wooden wardrobe, dressing table, two dining chairs,  under counter fridge, Television on a shelf, bin and tea and coffee making facilities.  The room is carpeted with magnolia walls, and white skirting boards.  There is a ceiling light (Switch just to left of door frame) a smoke alarm and a wall light above the  headboard of the double bed. There are plug sockets either side of the double bed and  next to the tv.  

There is a door 78cm to the ensuite which contains a shower, toilet and hand basin, vinyl flooring and fully tiled walls.

Room 7 Super king/Twin with Ensuite

Room 7 is a super king/twin room with ensuite shower room. The room is accessed via a white wooden door way 78cm and is 355cm x 304cm it consists of a super king bed which can be made into twin beds with two bedside cabinets,  dressing table with tv, wooden wardrobe, dining chair, under counter fridge, bin and tea and coffee making facilities. The room is carpeted with magnolia walls, and white skirting boards, the ceiling is slopped to the back of the property with a small window looking out to the back of the guest house.  There is a ceiling light (Switch just to right of door frame) a smoke alarm and a wall light above the  headboard, there are plug sockets either side of the bed and next to the dressing table. 

There is a door 78cm to the ensuite which contains a shower with sliding doors, hand basin, extractor fan and toilet. The flooring is vinyl and the walls are fully tiled.
